Jamie Green
Duke Head Men's Golf Coach,
Director of Blue Devil Golf Schools, and Class "A" PGA Professional
The 49ers were one of just nine teams to reach the NCAA Finals in each of the last three years. He also led the team to 17 wins overall, including 15 tournament titles over the last three seasons.
The 49ers competed in 55 regular-season events, with 39 top five finishes. In 12 post-season events (league tournaments; NCAA Regionals, NCAA Championships), Charlotte posted seven top five finishes. Charlotte has won each of the last three Atlantic 10 Championships
Green, the A-10 Coach of the Year in 2006, 2007 and 2008 as well as the 2008 GCAA Eaton Golf Pride South Region Coach of the Year in 2008, also has built a strong academic reputation. Charlotte has produced seven GCAA All-America Scholars in the past three years and has had three different players win the last three A-10 Scholar-Athlete of the Year honors.
A 1993 graduate of Ohio Wesleyan University and a member of the Golf Coaches Association of America since 1996, Green was an assistant coach at a number of schools prior to joining the 49ers. From 1999 to 2003, Green served as the assistant men's golf coach at North Carolina under head coach John Inman. He also served under Hall of Fame coach Mike Griffin at Auburn from 1997-99.
Green competed in the 1992 NCAA Division III Championship and won three varsity letters at Ohio Wesleyan where he played for Hall of Fame coach Dick Gordin. Gordin also coached former Blue Devil coaching great Rod Myers at Ohio Wesleyan.

Jon Whithaus
Duke Associate Head Men's Golf Coach,
and Manager of Blue Devil Golf Schools
Jon Whithaus joined the Duke golf program as an associate head coach in July of 2009 after a 13-year head coaching stint at Ohio Wesleyan and Director of the Central Ohio Golf Academy. Whithaus has also been an instructor at over 50 sessions of youth golf camps at various universities.
Whithaus, a seven-time North Coast Athletic Conference Coach of the Year, led the Bishops to 11 straight NCAA Division III Championships appearances with six top 10 finishes in the last eight trips. He also guided Ohio Wesleyan to eight NCAC championships in the last 10 years. In his final season at Ohio Wesleyan his team finished tied for sixth at the NCAA Championship, extending a string of national top-10 finishes to six of the seven years.
Under Whithaus's guidance, Chad Poling won medalist honors at the 2004 NCAA Division III tournament that year, giving the Bishops their first-ever national champion in golf; and 2009 graduate Jeff Nieman became the first 4-time All-American in school history.
Whithaus was a two-time All-America Scholar and All-NCAC honoree, while earning three letters in golf during his Bishop career. He helped the Bishops to a string of four straight North Coast Athletic Conference titles and three straight top-3 finishes in the NCAA Division III championship. Whithaus helped Ohio Wesleyan to a third-place finish at the NCAA Division III championship as a sophomore, at the time the school’s best-ever finish in the national tournament, and then helped the Bishops top that finish with a second-place tie in 1990. Duke head coach Jamie Green and Whithaus were teammates at Ohio Wesleyan during the 1990 and 1991 seasons.
In addition to his coaching responsibilities, Whithaus served as an assistant athletic director for facility management at Ohio Wesleyan for the past five years. He was also the Director of Instruction at Oakhaven Golf Club and a committee member for the Gordin Collegiate Classic, one of the most prestigious Division III tournaments in the nation.
